Happy Republic Day!

As India awakens into yet another, what looks like a normal day, is the dawn of one year older republic country..blah.blah..

earlier, watching parade on DD used to be one of the main attractions of the day..now probably people get up late and then tune to special programmes (TV's dont leave any holiday for special programmes anymore i guess..any day viewer is likely to be at home is considered a festive day by TV's perhaps..) and watch their fav and not-so-fav cini stars giving interviews and someother humbug things..

nevertheless, Happy Republic Day!

btw, what is the difference of independence and republic..is it that India went public once in 1400's and then again(re) went public in 1950???

(by public, i meant, IPO and not going to news..)

Wowwwwwwwwwwwww!

mm..that's mine..i can't believe it..i was thinking of buying nokia 1100 after coming back, but in a spite of moment caved into its beauty and ordered it..and i got my hands on it!! happy..too happy..(need to check if it works fine, though..i'm very critical of motorola phones, having owned one for last 2+ yrs..)..

and for some strange reason, amazon (or their actual supplier for this phone tigerdirect) decided my name looks spanish and sent me the manual in that language :-(

i just hope that the phone works in india :-;

food & drink

If you are a vegetarian, you sure gonna have hard time in US..unless you decide to do cooking all the time or restrict to the saravana bhavan nearby..options are pretty rare for them..

(why am i concerned abt veggies..see we went for this trip for 4 days to LA/LV..4 of us..all veggie except me..and there is no saravana bhavan at the places we went..poor folks..they had the some veggie burger all 3 times and all 4 days..)

And for the drinkards, life is heaven in US..you go to a supermarket..chances are there is more shelf space for wine/champagne than vegetables :-)

Fortunately, I'm on the sweet spot.. I eat anything as long as they are cooked and tastes ok and i drink (often heavily)..often i order some stuff without fully understanding what it is and delightfully feast upon it, still not knowing whats in it..and the americans here have wrong opinion about indians..they think all indians are veggie by default and that i'm odd man out (especially when i eat that beef..it seems beef is forbidden for hindus and they know it and not me..huh)..no need to explain the drinks part..i make regular visit to the supar market nearby :-)

En jon udambirkku vayirre pradhanam..(stomach is the prime and important organ in the body)..u see..

Happy evenings!

sorry folks, if you thought this is some juicy stuff, i'm sorry again!

Life in US can sometime be harder, especially when you're alone (no roomies or no buddies to hang out or no girlfriends..ok..dont laugh on the last one), the main comfort is that there is this stupid box playing the re-run's of 90's sitcoms..
glad i've not seen them before..i'm having a good time..

6-7 pm there is Seinfeld running..main reason i come home before 6..(just to clarify, my work schedule is something like this..10am go to office, 12-2 come, cook and lunch at home,2-5.30 office..in the office there is innumerable coffee, rest room,TT,gossip breaks..u see how productive i am!)..getting back on the track..Seinfeld absolutely great..the show about nothing..

follow it up with Everybody loves Raymond for an hour..another good comedy..Then comes Friends for an hour..Then comes sex and the city..and this is in just one channel..whenever you feel bored or during ad breaks, you immediately jump to other channel..oomphh..
life would have been pretty tough for singles if not for that stupid box!

Lost and not found?

Anita bora reports that one of her friend'd pet is lost and any help is welcome..

I'm trying find the real ME, any help is welcome!

Two quotes and a conlcusion

Two quotes i read at Nimmy's and like it.

Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. - Oscar Wilde

Innovation is not something that was unfathomable till it arrived!
Indeed, the greatest praise an innovation can receive is for people to say,
"This is obvious! Why didn't I think of it? It's so simple!" – Peter Drucker

isn't it..it's so obvious..y cant i think of it..is it because Peter and Oscar are innovators..
may be I'm just Stupid :-(
