this is my first post from my laptop..

got it delivered last week itself but couldn't use it so far as i was away tripping around LA and LV..

and where is my trip report..expect it soon (gawd i have so many to write about but just 24hrs a day)

Ice skating

went to downtown san jose today..they had ice rink there and people were enjoying skating over there..nice one..should do it when i'm here..

My car

ok..not really..its only rented and i've it till monday morning only!

Locked out..two bad!

Ok..both good things and bad things happened today!

Rented a car today and drove around the place..Flea market in San jose and Wal mart in San Jose..

now the bad news..came back at 8 only to realise i dont have the home keys..roomie will come an hour later..went to office..found a nice mexican restuarent on the net to dine..got the directions and ready to go..crash..frantic search for keys..where are they? run to the parking slot and keys are already there in the ignition slot only that i cant open the doors! damn it..gave SOS call to car company..help on the way..but 60 mins processing and path delay will be there!

will upload photos of flea market and some other stuff later..

meanwhile, this is the car i've rented..


if you think this is some ultra luxurious high end stuff, surprise..this is the cheapest i can get here..compact model..
y'day drove Nissan one (dont remember the model)..absolute beauty..

Want to make some extra bucks!

There is this friend of mine in US bay area who is behind me asking me to sign up for the Amway kind of thing so that i can earn upto $2700 in part time..how nice of him!

But suddenly i have this urge to say no to money :-( But this guy ain't leaving me too.he brings in one of seniors to answer all my concerns (i managed to dodge the first meeting, so they caught me up at the house without even telling me in advance that they're coming here for tha purpose)...i told him all my concerns and tell you what he answers everything..but that doesn't matter..you simply know. it's not going to work..he has given 3 cds which contains speeches, success stories etc etc..

when business and friendship meet, it either grand success or a tame failure, i guess.

speed

was driving on the US roads for the firsttime y'day..wasn't easy one..the number of rules they have are mindboggling..its not the car..its the rules! i've been to roads where speed limit is 40mph..no courage yet to take on the 65+ highways!

usually for a beginner you can get around by going slow..but thats not the case here..u cant go slow else entire traffic will pile up behind you on a busy road..they simply dont pass a vehicle..lets see how the weekend goes :-)

Am I crazy?

For those who dont know, it is Sun 2.30AM Pacific Time here..thats right..thats where i'm now..the bay area..the silicon valley, the US of A blah blah..

what am i doing wide awake at this time..well its not that late for techie..but not me..one who sleeps at 11 and gets up at 6..wah..heavy lunch buffet (needless to say that its indian) at a local restuarent on friday, follow it up with north indian dinner and THEN a heavy drinks party (can you believe it..3 large vodka..damn it)..round it off with hyderabadi briyani and go to sleep..you know somethings not right in stomach..you just know it, ain't you?

you get up and you have all the possible wrong things one can have..head ache, hang over, nausea, loose motion..you name it, i have it..and then you start feeling hungry..you suddenly crave for that special thing..idli and indian coffee..damn it..hungry and no way get a plate of idly..no car, no food..that right..welcome to california, the place designed on the assumption that everyone will have atleast one car (atleast?) and my stupid company decides not give it..damn it..call up some friend of mine who is rest room, checks up my call an later..rushes to help a over-drunken friend..takes me to a nearest Madras Cafe..thank god..2 plates of idli and a filter coffee later, you know the 200 Rs (yeah..5$..but you know my brain does this math always) is worth it..as come of the hotel to get the sun you rarely see, you know you've seen the bottom and the things are turning up!

went to beach santa cruz 40 miles away coutesy a friend of friend who has car, take a jolly ride and step on the freezing the pacific (no wonder i couldn't see single soul inside the water) like holy water tank and immediately back-off..boy..where is this day headed..come back..get whisked away by another friend to a conference where they tell you how to make money part time, how to lead a free life from debt, how not to make your boss rich, boy-oh-boy..have u seen those church preachers preaching the gods words and the entire crowd cries along with it..what a way to hook sw engineers who already spend very little time with family to not even have it and make them work part time making money so that they can live happily..yeah the same amway stuff..american version..u make in dollars..they r trying to hook me in..u know what, they dont give any time to you to think, 'cos if you think, u'll think through..i've a meeting with somebody tomorrow who'll explain me how this stuff works..god save me..pray i fall sick ..

and then you switch on the TV at 12 in the night with hamburger in your hand and you see this movie..whats the name..i dont know..missed the names..but you know one that hooks you on..that makes you feel good..makes it worth the toil..i like this romatic and mild comedies..not the american pie stuff (thats porn comedy i guess)..liek the serendipty stuff i wrote some time back..i found the name to be 'sleepless in seattle' by googling it..watch it..
